About
Bruce and Deb opened Past and Present Metamora in the fall of 2017. Mom was retired from her banquet facility business and Deb was about to finish her PhD in English Studies. We were actually going to have some free time, and no one in this family rests easily. It seemed like the ideal time for our family of busy bees to start a business.
Speaking of bees, they actually do their part, as well. Chuck (Deb's brother) and his wife Sandy raise the bees that provide the Riggert Farms honey we sell at the store. Even our friends have joined the party, as Deb's long-time friend, Leann designs and produces the signs you'll find in the store and online at Etsy.

One of our core values is offering locally sourced products at reasonable prices. We all enjoy shopping. It just seems like it's more fun when the quality and the value are exceptional. If you notice, our prices are below retail, and we work hard to keep them sharp. We also purchase our merchandise from local producers or small businesses like ourselves.
If you visit us in Metamora, you'll see Mom's work all around the store. She's responsible for the displays and the store front window. Bruce is typically at the store most days and is responsible for purchasing all of the vintage wares, which keeps him hopping. When Deb isn't teaching, she's at the store, too. We all are enjoying this little shop!
